The Golden Gate Diamond Thief

On the 2th of March Australia. The London Bank got robbed by a thief. He stole The Golden Gate Diamond the police don't know who or why.

The police told the banker that the diamond was on water so banker took the police to a computer that had a tracked the diamond. The detectives looked around and then one of the detective saw how he did it. First he got a laser cutter to cut a hole in the glass roof. Next he dropped a rope that was tied onto an air vent and knocked out two janitors and put into a janitor closet went past everyone and stole the diamond.

The London police chief told the police to check the camera in the bank. But it looked like the thief had some help. The police had a hard time seeing who it was.

Police had found a fingerprint on a piece of glass. The man was Robben Bank. The police made a stake out at Robben’s home. It was 4am.  "It looks like Robben did not stay at home" the police said.

The police saw that his car was gone but as they were looking, one of their phones went off "Hey, I think I know where Robben’s car is.” His car was at the Pacific docks but the car had a trailer - no boat. Police went to the bank and told the banker that they were in the Pacific Ocean. The banker went to a computer that tracked the diamond. However, it could only track within the Pacific Ocean. All of the police went to the middle of the Pacific Ocean. "

As the police were coming they had a clear look at who was helping Robben. It was his brother Brooke Banks. Brooke and Robben were captured by the police.

The diamond is now safe in the bank.

Math Task

Weight and Capacity

Four  problems to solve.

Think what balance scales look like (image a see-saw)
Draw five diagrams of different looking balance scales and put on each side what might be being weighed

A school bus has a 2600 kg carrying capacity,  How many people would it be permitted to carry?   (think about the difference of child and adult)

 72 child and 1 adult   1 child = 36kg    1 adult = l90 kg

50 child and 9 adult

10 child and 25 adult

I can see a selection of containers with a capacity bigger than 1 L but smaller than 2 L.  What might the containers be?

L 1.01 - L 1.99

Make three different packages that have a mass of 1 kg.  Compare the size of your packages and discuss why they can be so different but have the same mass.

The three things I chose was water, two cans of sweet corn and three baking powder.

The mass is different but the Weight is the same because the water that is in it might be heavier than the baking powder so it needs more than the water

I'm blogging this because I liked doing this and it was challenging.
We were learning to write a description from a sense.

Success Criteria
Has strong adjectives
Different sentence beginnings
Different sentence lengths
A simile and/or alliteration
Has an intro body and conclusion
Thoughtful word choices
Your own goal Write simple, compound and complex sentences correctly

When I turn around I see the most majestic scene. The clouds are as fluffy as sheep and there is green growing grass everywhere. Crystal flowing water at the bottom of the hill is going behind the tall trees. The sea blue sky is as blue as the ocean. The trees are scattered everywhere like soldiers at an army. The hills are going as far as I can see and begin to blend in with the crystal clear sky. It is an amazing and delicate scene.
